3 Month Pictures

My sweet friend and fabulous photographer, Meagan Jackson, took these adorable pictures of little G for his 3 month milestone.  We will be taking 6, 9 and 12 month pictures as well.

 One morning after his breakfast, G was in a very sweet relaxed mood and he started really grinning! I got some great pictures of some of his first big grins!

Daddy and G at the hunt camp (my dad is leasing a hunt camp in Mississippi near French Camp with a bunch of other families from our church and all over). It is so cute how much they look alike!

Sweet Little G.  I thought I would just post some "catching up pictures" and then resume the regular blogging that I have been intending to do.  I will slowly catch up on what has been going on in our lives!  Gardner is so much fun and is starting to do some really fun things like grabbing his rattles and banging them over and over on his Bumbo tray.  I am sure this will eventually get annoying, but for now it is adorable! He turned five months on Thursday and I cannot believe he is growing up so fast! I think six months will be the kicker as far as "he's growing up so fast!" goes.

The Mail Came!!

Well, little Michael Bumgardner (Gardner) Hughes is here!! He was born yesterday at 3:52 P.M., weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 inches long.  He has a head full of silky soft dark hair. I will put a more detailed post on here later, but this should satisfy the demand for pictures!

"I feel like I ordered him in the mail and he's getting here tomorrow!"

Josh said this while we were pulling out of the Wal-mart parking lot earlier today.  Needless to say I laughed for about 5 minutes.  We are so excited about our little Gardner getting here tomorrow.  Though I was initially against induction, I am grateful that I have had today to mentally prepare myself for the long day tomorrow.  We have to be at the hospital at 4:30 am and Dr. Joe said that it should take about six hours for him to come, we shall see if this turns out to be true...I'm not getting my hopes up.  So a little update before the much anticipated post about his birth.  These are some pictures of stuff we have been doing: 

I walked outside one day and around the side of the house there were these big beautiful plants with big beautiful buds and I thought, NO WAY ARE THERE BIG PEONY PLANTS IN MY YARD! I love them, they turn into these and they smell heavenly!

   Yes, that is a real flower...hard to believe.  

This is my mint bed in it's infancy rooted from Hillary's backyard, she is yard queen!

This is how my sunroom has been set up since sometime in April.  I love it this way, I wish it was springtime year round.

We had another dinner with Lala and Corina's families which was very fun.  I think everyone had a good time!

We also had a "Sips and Strokes" night with our community group where Hillary showed us how to paint a really cute church while we sipped on our wine.

And while I don't think I would be able to handle actual flower beds this year, I decided to have a very small porch garden.

This is the little gown that I made for Gardner to come home in.  Josh calls it "His little dress".  The plan is to bring home all of our little babies in this daygown. 

Finally, though I look terrible (I can't wait to get back to normal!), I thought I should put up a picture of my first Mother's Day.  We had a picnic at Overton Park with my family and took this picture.  My sweet mom and dad also gave me a hydrangea bush and some pretty roses from their yard.  It was a very fun day.

The next post will be Gardner's birthday post!! Yay! I can't wait to meet our little guy!!

The last little room project!

Here is my last little room project.  I found these vintagey looking postcards at Davis-Kidd and just had to put them in his nursery.  It was going to be a bit pricey to have them all matted and framed like I wanted, but they look cute on picture wire with clothespins, too! 

Here are a few pics from a very adorable shower that my dear friends Jen (who recently told me she's having her second baby in December!! I will be frequently checking her blog for ultrasound pictures!-hint) and Beth (Who is about to move into her first "own" house in Jackson, TN which is sooo much closer to Memphis-MTSU football carpool anyone?) in Murfreesboro threw for little Gardner.  It was so much fun and it was so nice to see all of our old friends! 

These are the precious little letters what now are proped up on the top shelf of the changing table in Gardner's nursery. Jen is so creative!

Memphis friends, notice any resemblance between this kitchen and a certain kitchen with red countertops? Yes, I shamelessly used the same green Jen used in her kitchen...

My sweet friends who REALLY pulled one over on me by throwing Josh and I a surprise baby shower modeled after one of our new favorite shows "Parenthood".  Note the christmas lights over the tables and deck in the backyard!

Now a few pictures of regular life, apart from Gardner parties and room fixing:

This is my "Yay for Spring and Good Strawberries" Cake, I got lots of comments on the "Starfish" cake... they do look like starfish, I must admit!

I was sitting still in traffic and saw this beautiful rainbow! It's hard to take picture of a rainbow but if you can see, it was a whole one, it went from one end of the sky to the other.  Brilliant!

Corina has turned 13, is continuing to make honor roll and joined the soccer team! I am so proud of her!

We had a really fun church/community function at the Levitt Shell last Saturday night, an Easter Eve concert with Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken, it was so beautiful and the music and fellowship was great.  We even used out picnic basket that doubles as a cooler.  It was adorable.

This is the shower curtain that Tracey and I made out of a duvet cover from the Pottery Barn outlet (Our favorite!!).  We re-did Kristen's bathroom at Tracey and Jeff's house while Kristen was on the backpacking trip.  Tracey even had her first encounter with spray paint! She spray painted those frames on the left. They are a little brighter navy in person and are so cute and shiny!

And last, but certainly not least, here is a picture of cute little Latosha with her sweet Momma, Lala at church on Easter Sunday.  Her tiny Easter dress, tights and sweater were adorable!
